Beautiful surroundings, fun and interesting history, too much great shopping at the store, lol, peaceful drive through Jungle Gardens, excellent Crawfish Etouffe at the 1868 Restaurant, and every staff member was so enthusiastic and helpful. A lovely way to spend the better part of a day. I will be back.

Small museum and tour but very interesting. I learned many things that I didn't know, like they were ahead of they're times on marketing techniques. The gift shop is great with all the tabasco items and the drive through Jungle Gardens is beautiful. The kids enjoyed both.

Only :40 outside of Lafayette, Avery Island is a gorgeous location to spend the day. We started with the Tabasco tour of the greenhouse, beautiful 100-year-old barrels, and the bottling plant. They were labeling the batch destined for Japan applying Japanese labels to them. Hard to believe they supply the worlds Tabasco sauce on this little island! We had a 6-course tabasco tasting with numerous delicious Cajun dishes from the 1868 restaurant. I've never been a big Tabasco fan, but I did really enjoy some of the dishes with the sauce in it. The gift shop has all the lines of sauces, and all things tabasco including gift sets perfect for Christmas.
