It's almost like I can't listen to history anymore unless I hear the stories of the women involved. This tour was perfect for that. You got to hear about women that you never heard of and stories that you would not have known if you just walked by the buildings and sites included on the tour. We had a nice long tour across a lot of downtown Philadelphia including stories of wives, enslaved women, medical professionals, and gay rights activists among others. I recommend this tour highly.

Best. Tour. Ever. Spanning colonial Pennsylvania through the 21st Century, there is a ton of history packed into this 2-hour tour, all centering on amazing women who shaped Philadelphia but largely have been ignored by the history books. Joey is an engaging, enthusiastic & thoroughly knowledgeable tour guide. This is not a dry, scripted tour where a memorized spiel is fed to the masses. The tour is limited to 10 people (we had 7), so questions are encouraged and discussions often arise among the group, usually starting with, "Wow, I never knew that!" I'm not a "tour" person, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one and found myself recommending it to random strangers.
