What To Expect

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Take a brief shuttle to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center for a guided & interpretive tour of the animals. The center is Alaska’s premier rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned wildlife. AWCC Tour runs 1.5 hours and includes walking and driving options to view the animals. A sack lunch is provided with this tour.

We loved this adventure so much. It was so well planned and executed…we saw lots of wildlife, the train was great and we LOVED the raft trip. Our guide for the day was Maddie and she made the trip even better! She was so knowledgeable about the area, besides interesting facts about the animals and the area we rafted, she gave us tips for other things to do and restaurants to try. Great experience….highly recommend!

A great day. The moment the glacier appeared was magical, along with our visit to the Conservation Centre. The crew worked so well to ensure we had a great day. Floating down the river was a beautiful way to end the tour.

My husband and I wanted a closer look at Alaska than what we saw from a cruise ship. This was a wonderful tour to kick off our adventure! The train ride was gorgeous, and my pictures through the large glass windows came out great. I am not a fan of viewing wild animals in captivity, but I think it’s great that these rescue services exist, and we got to see huge grizzlies frolicking in a lake together! And the raft portion of the tour was amazing! To see a glacier so close up and to float through such beautiful scenery with a knowledgeable guide was just wonderful. I highly recommend this tour.
