What To Expect

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Take a brief shuttle to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center for a guided & interpretive tour of the animals. The center is Alaska’s premier rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned wildlife. AWCC Tour runs 1.5 hours and includes walking and driving options to view the animals. A sack lunch is provided with this tour.

This is a very fun, relaxing all day event. Alex, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about all of the wildlife, topography, etc and made for a very fun, engaged and informative trip. You can’t go wrong when you combine the Alaska railroad, the wildlife conservatory and Spencer glacier all in one day. There was a mix of young families, older folks and a couple of solo travelers like me. Everyone seemed to enjoy their time.

Six of us were rafted around Spencer Glacier and it’s icebergs with the most amazing views!!!! Our guide Jon was knowledgeable and entertaining. The Placer River float was easy…we didn’t have to do a thing. Although it was overcast and sprinkling we thoroughly enjoyed this excursion.

Very knowledgeable tour guide. Pointed out a lot of vegetation and landmarks. Explained a lot about the area, glacier and river. Felt safe the whole time! Good for all ages. Highly recommend!
