On board the Aleutian Ballad, a boat that was featured on the Discovery Channel’s popular TV show Deadliest Catch, you’ll cruise through the calm, protected waterways of the Inside Passage with an expert crew, watching as marine creatures of all kinds are caught and hauled up on deck. Catch is then held in a live tank for observation before being released back into the wild. You’ll see king crab, box crab, octopus, rockfish, prawns and more, plus you may catch sight of other local wildlife like sea lions and porpoise. This tour has also become world renowned for a spectacular encounter with eagles in the wild.

Minimum age is 5 years, no exceptions due to coast guard regulations.
You MUST BE ON BOARD THE ALEUTIAN BALLAD for check in 15 minutes before your departure time.
If you are concerned about seasickness, please note that this tour stays in the calm, protected waters of the Inside Passage and does not go out into the open ocean; large waves and rough seas will not be encountered. You WILL NOT be in the Bering Sea.
Please note: additional transportation is not required, as it is a short, easy walk to get to the fishing boat from any downtown Ketchikan hotel or cruise ship.
Wheelchair accessible, please advise at time of booking if wheelchair assistance is required.
Guests arriving at Ward Cove need to meet an hour early to get into town. We will provide bus transportation for you but it is very important you know to meet AN HOUR EARLY to account for travel time into Ketchikan.

Just returned from an Alaskian Cruise with NCL and the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour made is it the most memorable experience of a lifetime. I have been on many excursions and this one TOPS them all. David, Kiwi, Cheif, and the whole crew was remarkable. This is a tour for the whole family to enjoy TOGETHER. I have to say this is very educational for EVERYONE. You interacted with the crew and learned about the local marine life. You were able to get the most majestic bird, a Bald Eagle, caputured on camera up close. This is one excursion you will continually want to take pictures. So make sure your batteries are charged and you have plenty of film or memory on your digital camera. You could feel the crew's passion and desire felt as they told their adventurous stories as they shared their personal experience with the guests. This excursion was not just someone that just talked and went through a script. You should NOT miss the opportunity to go on this excursion.
