What To Expect

Kualoa Ranch

Established in 1850, Kualoa is a 4,000-acre (1,619-hectare) working cattle ranch that extends from the rugged mountains down to the ocean. The terrain includes dense rain forest, open valleys and white-sand beaches. Many areas of this natural paradise can be reached only on foot, horseback or all-terrain vehicle. You may even recognize the scenery as Kualoa Ranch has served as a set for Hollywood movies such as Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor and Godzilla, and TV shows like Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I. and Lost.

This is a must see tour. There are so many different experiences you can choose from that will fit your preferences and very well organized and efficient. I would recommend not going on a rainy day if possible, makes the experience not as enjoyable. This ranch has a great history and the movie locations are so fun to see. Also the staff is very helpful and cheerful.

Our experiences movie set tour, jungle tour and ocean voyage were all fun and highly recommended. Problems arose upon booking as I purchased the pass without transportation. When I called Kualoa Ranch to try to reserve the 3 choices I wanted, their system showed I needed transportation and the agent would not make a reservation. I called a Viator agent who did not seem to know anything about making choices. He said hed send a new voucher which appeared in my email the day after we went on the excursion. All was not lost as my original voucher worked, but I needed to call Kualoa Ranch again to find out what time to arrive 7:45 in order to be there before the large groups arriving on busesso I could be guaranteed to get my 3 choices. It would be helpful to future patrons if this process is made clear on the Viator site.
