What To Expect

Kualoa Ranch

Established in 1850, Kualoa is a 4,000-acre (1,619-hectare) working cattle ranch that extends from the rugged mountains down to the ocean. The terrain includes dense rain forest, open valleys and white-sand beaches. Many areas of this natural paradise can be reached only on foot, horseback or all-terrain vehicle. You may even recognize the scenery as Kualoa Ranch has served as a set for Hollywood movies such as Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor and Godzilla, and TV shows like Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I. and Lost.

Tour bus company was mainly non English speaking guides so we end up getting out info mixed up, we were told our daughter could zip line and horse ridding but when arrived she was too young by 12months for both.

We booked the Kualoa Ranch Experience Pass as we were a group of 4 wanting to do a few things. We did the Movie Sites & Ranch Tour and it was so much fun we loved it! Wish we could have done a longer tour. We broke up and did Fishpond & Tropical Garden Tour and the Ocean Voyage. Recommend the Fishpond and Tropical Garden Tour for older travelers. Lunch was simple but filling - there was a few choices of hot dishes and a salad with cakes, really good quality food. Our last tour Jungle Expedition Adventure was super funny due to the amount of rain. It was cut short due to the weather. If you have back problems i wouldn't recommend the Jungle Expedition as it is bumpy. One thing is take a rain jacket!! when it rains it pours at Kualoa but it adds to the fun of it. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

A brilliant trip, beautiful scenery and a list of movie sets cannot want more. Far more to do on the ranch than you can do in a day.
