The best of Kualoa Ranch Experience package consists of 3 90 minutes tour (which typically costs $50 dollars) plus a lunch, and I think it is the most effective way to explore the island. We found that all tours were good and, although some parts overlap, they are pretty different to each other so it's ok to take them atthe same time.
- Aloha Aina Tour was our first tour and was by far the most leisure (some would say slowest) one, where we actually got to taste some produce, including macadamias, from the farm. It's major stop was at the lake, location of several movies, including First 50 Days.
- Jungle Expedition Tour - where you explore the ranch from a jeep, definitely more adventurous than the first. You got to view the location of the Jurassic World movie, including the enclosure of the Indominus rex (the bit, tall gate you saws in the first movie) and take tons of pictures. I believe here is also the place where you are able to enjoy a good panoramic view of the ranch, after a brief hike. I think most of us voted this as our favorite tour
- Hollywood movie set tour, where we take a bus tour and check various sites and props where several movies were filmed. There are some breathtaking views of the ocean, and we got to see locations and props for a bunch of movie sets.
We had two tours in the morning, and the third one after lunch. The lunch was a burger or chicken sandwich, not too bad, and at any rate, it gives the value to the package.
The souvenir store is not bad; price are typical, but it actually had some interesing items, including some Hawaiian shirts that I saw at the International Market Place a day before.
This attraction was not in my radar the last time we came to Hawaii but it seems that nowadays it is a top attraction. I do think so, we had a very good day.
Also, to note, the ranch is right across the street of a parking lot where you can have a prime view of the Chinaman's hat.
