Kualoa Ranch
Established in 1850, Kualoa is a 4,000-acre (1,619-hectare) working cattle ranch that extends from the rugged mountains down to the ocean. The terrain includes dense rain forest, open valleys and white-sand beaches. Many areas of this natural paradise can be reached only on foot, horseback or all-terrain vehicle. You may even recognize the scenery as Kualoa Ranch has served as a set for Hollywood movies such as Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor and Godzilla, and TV shows like Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I. and Lost.

The best of Kualoa Ranch Experience package consists of 3 90 minutes tour (which typically costs $50 dollars) plus a lunch, and I think it is the most effective way to explore the island. We found that all tours were good and, although some parts overlap, they are pretty different to each other so it's ok to take them atthe same time. - Aloha Aina Tour was our first tour and was by far the most leisure (some would say slowest) one, where we actually got to taste some produce, including macadamias, from the farm. It's major stop was at the lake, location of several movies, including First 50 Days. - Jungle Expedition Tour - where you explore the ranch from a jeep, definitely more adventurous than the first. You got to view the location of the Jurassic World movie, including the enclosure of the Indominus rex (the bit, tall gate you saws in the first movie) and take tons of pictures. I believe here is also the place where you are able to enjoy a good panoramic view of the ranch, after a brief hike. I think most of us voted this as our favorite tour - Hollywood movie set tour, where we take a bus tour and check various sites and props where several movies were filmed. There are some breathtaking views of the ocean, and we got to see locations and props for a bunch of movie sets. We had two tours in the morning, and the third one after lunch. The lunch was a burger or chicken sandwich, not too bad, and at any rate, it gives the value to the package. The souvenir store is not bad; price are typical, but it actually had some interesing items, including some Hawaiian shirts that I saw at the International Market Place a day before. This attraction was not in my radar the last time we came to Hawaii but it seems that nowadays it is a top attraction. I do think so, we had a very good day. Also, to note, the ranch is right across the street of a parking lot where you can have a prime view of the Chinaman's hat.

My family and I (party of 8) did a "full experience day package" at the Kualoa Ranch. We did 3 tours and to help separate those experiences, I'll number them in the order they happened. 1) Movie Tour: I don't recall the tour guides name but he provided a well explained and fulfilling movie tour experience. After visiting the first stop, a person from another tour was left behind and our guide took his time to help the person get back with his group which gained major points to me. Our guide explained the multiple movies that used Kualoa ranch as their recording site and took us to those recognizable sites. Ultimately, he was great at what he did, was able to explain each site, and took care of other visitors that weren't apart of our tour. 8/10 2) Aloha Aina Tour (unsure of tour name but BEST TOUR GUIDE): I'm unsure of the actual tour name but we were taken through Kualoa ranch to see birds, trees, fruits, and some movie sites. **Andy**, our tour guide for this experience was the absolute best. He was passionate about his job and that alone was part of the experience. He began by explaining birds we may see as we ride around the area and helped us find them. Further in, he made a stop and provided us with true "Hawaiian" foods to test. Moving on, we got to see a movie site for 50 First Dates, which is also having a new movie site being built. He made a pit stop at one of the "Lost" sites and ran off the tour bus, into the water, and pulled out a live upside down jelly fish to show us. I could go on and on about the outstanding things that Andy did to make this tour outstanding. I happen to run into him in the gift shop hours after the tour ended and within our quick conversation I told him that I knew he loved his job and the ranch and he told me that he named his son Kualoa, after the ranch. 3) Jungle Expedition Tour: This tour was bumpy and fun. I'm unsure of our tour guides name but he was nice and inclusive. This tour took us through the mountains and some movie sites, including the Jurassic World movie side. We took photos at the Jurassic World gate and within but could not go to the upstairs area. Ultimately, the full ranch experience was extremely enjoyable. The food provided during our break included a burger or vegan option of stir fry noodles with veggies. Both options were delicious. Andy as a guide was easily the best part of all of our experiences, then the movie tour. In entirety the full Kualoa package was a fully inclusive and easy to experience tour. If I didn't mention this before, Andy was the best.
