We booked a trip to San Francisco for April only 4-5 weeks earlier. So Alcatraz tickets were impossible to get. I saw this Big Bus Tour with Alcatraz combo and jumped on it. We had a designated date for Alcatraz but could use the bus tour on any day. We chose to do the bus tour on our first day of our vacation. We didn’t “hop off and hop on” as it’s designed mainly because after you hop off you might have to wait 20-30 min for the next bus to show up. We chose to ride the entire loop which was supposed to be 2.5 hours but ended up being 3 because of unexpected traffic going through Golden Gate Park. We enjoyed it. We sat on the top. Our tour guide Bianca was great. She was informative and also very funny. The tour took us through many neighborhoods of the city and explained a lot of historical facts for each area. It was a nice way to start our trip. Then the next day we had our Alcatraz visit and that was great.

I only bought the one day combo,. My ticket offered Alcatraz, a walking tour, and the extent Ed your to Santalina I think that's what it was called. I started my bus tour at 10am bus tour was great way to find my bearings in San Francisco, only got of the bus at the Golden Gate Bridge for photos. My Alcatraz time slot was 3pm so when I got back on I go to the Ferry terminal in enough time and they did let me on early. I didn't have time to use all the combi offers. I think it would have been better to take the 2 day tour to make use of all on offer.

Thanks Vince for your review of BIG BUS San Francisco. It sounds like you purchased the 1 Day Package with Alcatraz. Though purchased as a combo, you can tour with BIG BUS on any day you like, and well the Combo extras you have 7 days in with to redeem and enjoy.

Excellent timing, courteous, service, ....the speaker know so well San Francisco , but remember speak a bit slow sometime it's not understand...
