To receive your Alcatraz Island Ticket you must check into the Big Bus Visitor Center one day prior to the Alcatraz Tour date, or before 9am on the date of your Alcatraz Tour.

Your tour time will be assigned 5 days in advance of the tour date. Once a time is assigned we are not able to make any changes, please note your timed entry will be allocated by Alcatraz this will not be able to be personally selected
Hop-on Hop-off tour ticket is valid during operating hours for 48 hours after first use.

Not sure how it works out price wise to buy the combo upfront or purchase separately. May want to purchase separately. Wasn’t crazy about having to check in with Big Bus tours office day before to find out what time Alcatraz tour is scheduled for next day. It’s not clear up front that you have 24 hours from time you redeem on/off bus tour tickets to use them. Thought we had to use them in one day. Also, you can use on/off bus tour tickets on a different day than Alcatraz tour. Leo was awesome as tour narrator on Big Bus! He’s super funny & super knowledgeable of the area! However, we were confused most of the time because he would speak about things we were going to see 2 or 3 blocks ahead of us. By the time we reached what he was talking about he was already explaining something else we would be seeing 3 blocks away!

So pleased we took the time to do the Alcatraz Tour, what an amazing place. As we only had a day and a half the sightseeing tour was an ideal way to get an over view of San Francisco. Would highly recommend to other travelers.

Booked before we travelled ,so called into the fishermans wharf office,the lady was very helpful allowing us to use the wi fi to download and print tickets,given instruction to the alcatraz crossing etc.Day of the crossing,everything went really well,you wonder if all the people in the ferry que will get on board,but they do.Alcatraz was very interesting and is a must see.The following day we decided to do the Sausilito route,which we found good and spent half the day there,more chilled out than the bussle of san Fran which was a welcome break,you also see the bridge in great detail and hear the history which was excellent.All round well worth the money it cost for the two day tour and would recommend,thanks Big Bus company and all your staff.
