Akaka Falls State Park

A long day but a great way to see the island if you are short on time and want to see a bit of everything. Suitable for all fitness levels however the trip to the crater is 2-3km round trip.

This was the best decision we made during this vacation. I learned so much about the island, the culture, the history, and native lore. But wait! There is more. We had the most amazing EVER guide! His name??? Dreu! He not only changed his attire throughout the day to match the environmental milieu but also to match the mood of the group. He was a non stop portable Discovery Channel fountain of knowledge. He kept us engaged, informed, comfortable, safe, and happy. But wait! He kept us on time to the minute! He fed us local cuisine for lunch and delicious snacks throughout the day. Our group would highly recommend this tour and wish you luck! If you get Dreu, you will know what we mean! 👍

I enjoyed being able to get an overview of the whole island in one day, Some of my favorite stops were the lava tube, the walk to see the waterfalls, and the Hawaii Volcano National Park. Mia was a great guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history and legends of the Hawaiian island. I would highly recommend this tour anytime, but especially if you have only a few days to visit The Big Island.
