Not on my bucket list but I added it and crossed it off once we finished this tour. Our tour guide Dane was awesome. Being a native Hawaiian he provided many historical points about the island and personalized the stories. He was courteous and always provided a hand and assistance getting out of the van and navigating the terrain.
The scenery was beautiful and I loved going through the private fields to the site where the Zip-line started. We did 8 lines and the last three were my favorite. I wanted to adopt Jake (Jakey), the zipline guide, he was funny, knew his equipment and provided us a sense of safety the whole time. Jake was professional and his confidence made me feel confident crossing the 6 sky bridges and rappelling.
Dane picked the tour back up before lunch and drove us to one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen. The lunch was great and the picnic spot overlooking the Polulu Valley and ocean was amazing.
Kohala Zipline and staff thought of everything. They provided one on one fitting of our zipline equipment, real wet washcloths to wash our hands prior to lunch, walking sticks for our hike, insect repellent, backpacks and over shoulder packs, snacks, drinks, and towels for each of us.
Dane took us on a short hike to a private waterfall that had fresh water shrimp. The water was cold but that didnāt keep us from getting wet. Dane cracked open some macadamia nuts for us, picked us some guava fruit to eat and pointed out other fruit that was ripening.
I canāt say enough about this tour. Our guides Dane and Jake made this one of the most memorable activities I have ever done.
