What To Expect

Cahaba Brewing Company

We will stop at 4 of the breweries listed.Cahaba quickly outgrew our first location in Birmingham’s Pepper Place/Lakeview district. A few years later, in January 2016, we moved our 3 barrel homebrew project to East Avondale and upgraded to a 30 barrel brewhouse. Cahaba is currently located in a 51,000 square foot building in the Historical Continental Gin Complex. Our spacious Taproom has quickly become one of Birmingham’s favorite spots. With over 26 taps, our Taproom has awesome Cahaba staples like Blonde, Oka Uba, Pale Ale, and Lager, while also sporting Pilot Batch and Taproom-only offerings.

Good People Brewing Company

We will stop at 4 of the breweries listed. The taproom of this microbrewery is set right in the middle of the brewing action, with tours given.

Ghost Train Brewing Company

We will stop at 4 of the breweries listed. Ghost Train Brewing Co. is a brewery founded in 2014 by Taylor DeBoer, a former partner in the Cahaba Brewing Company and Patrick Small. The business began operating in 2015, selling bottled beers produced under contract at the Crooked Letter Brewing Co. in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

This is a great way to sample a few of the many local breweries with a designated driver. You get your money’s worth with basically a flight at each stop. Don’t waste the opportunity to try different styles and tastes as they may surprise you. Despite having been to a lot of breweries we still learned something new. Dustin felt more like a friend taking us to his local places than a guide. He is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Perfect mix of interacting with us yet still giving us space. This is great for just a couple or larger group. Highly recommend!

We had a great time with Dustin who was our tour guide and went to four different micro breweries and sampled different types of beers. One of the breweries was even canning at the time of our visit and it was very interesting how they canned the beer. It was a great experience and thanks Dustin for making it a great experience.

For all the non-beer drinkers: I was pleasantly surprised! I don’t like beer. I don’t drink beer. I was skeptical but I do enjoy learning new things, supporting local businesses, and hanging out with people. What’s great is you don’t have to like beer to enjoy this tour. Dustin did an awesome job explaining the brewing process and we learned a lot! We went with some friends, family, and met some great strangers that had booked at the same time. We took the extended, 4 hour, tour which included a meal at one of the breweries (really good). Birmingham and craft breweries are going to love and be thankful for Dustin & Scotti. They are opening the door to people who would not normally decide to go to a local brewery but after the tour, would return. We had 4 unique stops and enjoyed them all. Dustin listens to your interests and tastes and offers suggestions and options. He even went out of his way to find a “wine-drinker’s” beer. We will be return customers. Thanks, Dustin & Scotti.
