Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

We did the Ghostly Night Tour, 2 adults and 3 teenagers in our party, and we all enjoyed it. The unfortunate part was that it was 45 degrees and pouring down rain. Our guide provided umbrellas and ponchos for those who needed them and we made the best of it. We saw 8-10 spots around the main part of town and heard some really great ghost stories, including some history of Salem. The walking isn’t too bad at all, no real hills or bad terrain, but use caution as the cobblestone and bricks are often uneven. Highly recommend this tour company. Our guide was named David or Daniel, can’t recall, but he was very good too!

Did the 6:30 pm tour tonight (Halloween night) with a couple friends and our tour guide was awesome! She had a lot of good energy and made the experience fun. It was my favorite thing I did today. I would definitely recommend getting a tour through this company!

We had Daniel as our guide and it was amazing! So much history and he was phenomenal and knowledgeable. A lot of the history he went through is not mentioned in other tours; I did purchase the book he mentioned….not realizing HE wrote it! And I am Excited to read more on the history of the cemetery!
