Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

We actually did the 8pm tour but for some reason that was not listed. This is our 2nd time doing this tour and once again it did not disappoint. Olivia was very well spoken and informed. Even with her having to wear a mask she was easy to understand. The tour group was a reasonable amount and Olivia made sure everyone was able to hear her stories. We highly recommend doing this tour as we have done many and always come back to Black Cat because they are the best!

Daniel was so fun and enthusiastic the tour is really enjoyable. He takes you to spooky places, tells you what supposedly happened there with a litle bit of grim, making you feel te events. Excelent narration and excelente guide. I do reccomend it
