My husband and I were driving out from Sedona for a day trip/tour of Monument Valley. Since we had rented a Camero for our road trip, we had read this was not the ideal car and were hoping to contact a tour company to show us around, while being in a more reliable vehicle. We contacted a couple other companies and had called them throughout the morning on the day of, as their websites reported earlier business hours but continued to obtain voicemail messages saying that they were unable to get to their phones. We ended up calling BLACKWATER TOURS and right away, we had gotten in touch with someone on the phone and he was able to get us on a tour right away- 45 mins to be exact...when we had arrived to the Navajo Tribal Park. We were greeted by WILLIE, our tour guide who had taken my husband and I around in a Jeep Wrangler (in great shape!) and we had a private tour. Willie was informative and was able to answer our questions. (We had a private tour as it was the low travel season- mid December.) Would definitely recommend this company! I'm very surprised they didn't have many reviews and good ones at that...!

We booked the Sunset Tour in the Monument Valley in June with Blackwater Tours. We were a bit surprised that they did not have any recent reviews on Trip Advisor. When we arrived at the Navajo Visitors Centre, it was easy to find the tour operators and they called our tour guide, Margie. Apparently, no one else happend to have booked at the same time with them, so we basically had a private tour in that cart and it was great. We saw some others touring companies who where really booked out and the carts were totally full. We had a great tour, with only us in that vehicle and Margie explaining us a lot about Monument Valley and the Navajos. It was very interesting and with that 3 hours tour we got a nice insight of the Back Country of Monuments Valley. We would definitely book with Black Water Tours again.

We took the long tour (around 3 hours) with Frank Haycock as our tour guide. It was a great experience. Frank was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions. I am a retired teacher who taught Native American cultures and I had a ton of questions for him. He never hesitated to give me a good, thorough answer. This tour of Monument Valley was one of the highlights of our vacation. I recommend this tour highly and if possible, try to get Frank as your guide. It is well worth the time and money!!!!
