Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

i highly recommend this tour. The hike wasn't bad; walked at everyone's personal pace. waterfalls beautiful. Guide was nice and thoughtful to everyone in the group. i enjoyed all 4 hours of the tour. Thank you!

In spite of rainy weather, we had a wonderful time! We visited three beautiful, full, rushing waterfalls. The hiking was as described, easy to moderate. Scenery would be amazing in any season! Keith was a knowledgeable guide. He provided plenty of information all along the way. We met friendly folks in our tour groups. Enjoyed pleasant conversations as we walked the trails. Drinks and snacks were provided. Sufficient restroom stops. Being picked up at our B & B was a big plus. We took this tour after a few days visiting downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Hoping to come back for more hiking soon.

We definitely would not have found all these sights by ourselves. Our experience, and our pictures, were great. Tour included a half-day hike that included a number of waterfalls, was moderate but not too strenuous, and took bio-needs (snacks and bathroom breaks) into account. Information on the history of the region and the construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway was enough but not too much. We liked the sight of our first stop so much that we went back for dinner the next night.
