Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

Nice clean, comfortable van picked us up and tour guide told us all about the history of the area. We were driven down the Blue-ridge Parkway where we got to really enjoy the scenery without the worry of driving. We toured three lovely waterfalls and during our hike to the falls, we learned many interesting facts about the plants and the forest. Our guide walked at our pace so we weren't overcome by the exertion and were provided with water and snacks. What a pleasant morning we had.

Keith was a great guide, and went ahead with our tour although there were just two of us. Very knowledgeable about the history and geology of the region, and easy to chat to. We saw three waterfalls - all amazing - and enjoyed a 3 mile hike through the national park. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour. Gorgeous scenery on Blue Ridge Parkway, moderate hike to waterfalls that were amazing. Keith our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Being picked at our hotel was an added bonus. Well worth the money.
