Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

Our guide Keith was extremely knowledgeable, personable and he made it a great experience! The sights were breathtaking, the waterfalls beautiful and our hike was lots of fun.

This is a great way to see the Blue Ridge Parkway and get a sense of the grandiose nature around Asheville with lovely company! I am a solo traveler and debated renting a car for a solo adventure and hike. I am SO HAPPY I chose to do the guided hike with Keith instead! He picked me up from my Air BnB, dropped me off wherever I wanted to be dropped off afterwards, and the entire day, fed us (it was me and a couple on the tour) bits of historic and natural info about the great mountains and the flora and fauna we encountered. I will surely sign up again next time I'm in Asheville! Such a great value!

Beautiful! Better than expected. Very knowledgeable tour guide, Keith. This tour is a beautiful drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway to 3 waterfalls. The first is a short walk then the other two are a hike and steps. Keith is very patient if you need to take a break. Very safety minded guide as well.
