Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

Keith was awesome! Was in touch with us by text with our questions. He met us exactly when & where he said he would. His knowledge of the history of the area (Vanderbilt’s involvement) was insightful and made the trip so interesting for us. Very personable. The pace was perfect for 2 mid- 60s couples. The scenery/ waterfalls were gorgeous. We highly recommend this adventure!

We really enjoyed the tour which took us through some beautiful wilderness and saw some great waterfalls. Keith our tour guide was very aware and accommodating when some of us were being challenged by the terrain on the hike. I would definitely recommend this company and if we return to the area we will definitely use them again.

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Asheville. Keith is a knowledgeable, kind, and fun tour guide. The tour was well organized and ran smoothly. The waterfalls were absolutely gorgeous, and stopping at points along the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the mountain views was amazing. The hike is easy to moderate and snacks and water are provided. I highly recommend it if you enjoy nature!
