y husband and I had the pleasure of taking a private tour with Keith, since the weather was not ideal that day and the others who had booked the tour canceled. Truly their loss; though the rain storm from the previous night had ended, the amount of water going over the falls had increased dramatically. We saw the most magnificent displays as huge amounts of water rushed over the falls crashing into the stream below. Don't let cloudy skies or the chance of s sprinkle deter you from taking this trip. The clouds did not detract from our drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, it was amazing to drive in and out of the clouds and the view was constantly changing. Having Keith as our guide was a real comfort. His skills as a driver as well as his extensive knowledge of the roads, the hiking trails and the region in general made it possible for my husband to sit back and enjoy the ride this time instead of trying to navigate along the narrow windy mountain roads. What a pleasure ! Snacks and beverages were provided, and rain ponchos were available if needed. SInce we had Keith all to ourselves, he had time to share his intricate knowledge of the BIltmore Estate, and how the Vanderbilts had shaped the history of the Asheville region. We hope to return to Asheville for the fall foliage, and when we do, we will book this tour again ! You should too.

Thank you so much for your amazing comments! We did have quite a beautiful day after the pre-dawn weather had passed. It was a lot of fun to meet, and speak with you both. The falls have been very full with the rains that we have been having so far this year. We keep a close eye on the weather always and we will go out in a light rainy situations, however, we will not go out in heavy rains or if we feel there is any severe weather to be avoided. Safety is very important to us. We hope to see you again in the fall!

Keith was a great tour guide! He arrived promptly at the time given the day before to pick me up for a day of hiking waterfalls. His knowledge of the area is deep and he shared a lot of history of the area as we traveled to 3 waterfall sites. I would recommend anyone who is visiting Asheville, NC to book a hiking tour with Keith and Tumblestone Tours.

Thank you for your kind words, and recommendation, they are appreciated! The mountains are particularly lush and green right now and we are starting to see some rhododendron blooms. We hope to see you again if you are back up in the Asheville.
