Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

We had a great time on this. It’s stress free with pick up and drop off. You get to see the blue ridge parkway on a beautiful ride with some nice stops to take pictures. The hike is not strenuous at all, it was just enough. We saw some really nice waterfalls. Would recommend to anyone coming through!

Keith was truly outstanding!!! Prompt, professional, and full of knowledge. This was our family’s first trip to Asheville. Keith text me the night before to confirm our pickup. Keith was right on time the next morning, picking us up at the Doubletree at 8am. We saw three amazing waterfalls and spectacular views of the Smoky Mountains. During the drive and hike, Keith demonstrated his great love, passion, and knowledge of the Blue Ridge Parkway and several waterfalls. My wife, 20 year old daughter and 17 year old son loved every minute of it. Great experience that I would highly recommend.

Keith was great!! He was very informative and we had a great day visting waterfalls and overlooks. We were not famillar with the area and Tumblestone tours made our day of hiking easy! Everything was well organized and we learned so much about the area. I would definitely recommend this tour to others and hope to go again when we return in the future!
