Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

Keith, our guide was very friendly and informative. I learned more about the Vanderbilt family and the history of the area from him than I did at the Biltmore! The waterfalls he took us to were spectacular. The hiking pace was very easy and he was very accommodating to the different skill levels/fitness levels of the members of our group. He provided a great selection of snacks and cold drinks, and even had a spare walking stick available. The ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway was great and scenic, and definitely worth it for someone who would be too afraid to drive it themselves. Highly recommended!

I am here for a weekend workshop and had free time Friday morning so I took Keith’s guided waterfall viewing hike. Our group learned about the Blue Ridge Parkway and visited four beautiful spots, three with waterfalls. We had easy to moderate hikes to the spots and Keith brought snacks and drinks for all of us. This was very worthwhile and much more relaxing than had I driven myself to these sites! Take the tour! Totally worth it.

This was a great tour! We were picked up right from our hotel. We enjoyed a nice drive to the hiking area. Snacks and drinks were provided. The hiking was beautiful! We went to three different waterfalls. It was a nice hike, not too steep. After the three waterfalls, we took a drive up the blue ridge mountains and had an opportunity to get out and walk around a little bit. we were dropped off at our hotel right no time. I would definitely do this hike again!
