You get the feel of an old time southern plantation as you come up the long driveway to the entrance area. I suggest that you take your time when you visit Boone Hall and gather in all it has to offer. The associates are very knowledgeable and very pleasant.

So we went today thinking this was the original plantation house from the mid 1800s and immediately noticed it looked too new. Found out this is the 4th house on the property since the first one burned down and the rebuilt one was also destroyed by a fire. The third one was torn down and this one was built in the mid 1930s. Nonetheless, it was an interesting tour. Neat house with beautiful gardens. The entrance way is gorgeous with the trees lining the road. Cool place and it's worth stopping by. However, either bring lunch or eat elsewhere. The "restaurant" is simply a place to get pre packaged stuff. The tractor ride around the plantation was really informative and highly recommended. Show your AAA card for a discount on the admission.

Bus Driver waited for a couple of people at the visitors center. So when we got to the plantation we were rushed to get to the different presentations. I wanted to do the tractor tour of the plantation and the driver wouldn't wait for me and my husband to do the tractor tour. I also overpaid through this site. My hotel was 2 miles from the plantation and I could have saved myself a lot of money and been able to do the whole plantation while I was there. Won't do this again.
