Overview

With more than 265 acres for you to explore at the Bronx Zoo and over 10,000 animals your Bronx Zoo Admission ticket will give you unlimited access to a host of premium exhibits and activities. This includes JungleWorld, Bug Carousel and Nature Trek (Weather Permitting). Also, Congo Gorilla Forest is Free during the months of Jan-Mar.

The following attractions are closed for the season and will reopen in the Spring – Zoo Shuttle, Butterfly Garden, Children’s Zoo, Wild Asia Monorail and Dinosaur Safari.

We are committed to providing safe and healthy experiences for our community. Changes to exhibits and park operations will happen. We will provide advance notice, when possible, but adjustments may also be due to unforeseen conditions.

Thank you for understanding if some exhibits/animals are not available on the day you choose to visit.

We went at 10 am which was our scheduled arrival time. I’ve been to the zoo before but hadn’t been for more than a decade so was excited to be back. Especially, since we’ve followed the zoo with their tv show. It was disappointing that almost all the exhibits were closed when we were there. It was a Monday morning 8/8. Maybe they don’t own every exhibit during the week? Also there were minimal things open as far as good by 11:30. We kept saying, “Why is everything closed?” We spent three hours and left without seeing too much. Also when we were in the bird section before the aviary the smell was almost unbearable. I’m not sure if that’s how it was supposed to smell but it seemed unclean. I have difficulty walking too far with my knee replacement and kept seeing safari trains go by but they were all chained off and they never stopped. It would have been easier to have a way to get from one section to another. I wanted to see the gorillas but couldn’t manage any more walking. Overall the experience was not worth the cost. We left very disappointed.

The monkeys!! And seeing how much free range they have! It was amazing. The animals seemed very happy, and was a great place to see animals in real life! Also just like the show.
