Overview

With more than 265 acres for you to explore at the Bronx Zoo and over 10,000 animals your Bronx Zoo Admission ticket will give you unlimited access to a host of premium exhibits and activities. This includes JungleWorld, Bug Carousel and Nature Trek (Weather Permitting). Also, Congo Gorilla Forest is Free during the months of Jan-Mar.

The following attractions are closed for the season and will reopen in the Spring – Zoo Shuttle, Butterfly Garden, Children’s Zoo, Wild Asia Monorail and Dinosaur Safari.

We are committed to providing safe and healthy experiences for our community. Changes to exhibits and park operations will happen. We will provide advance notice, when possible, but adjustments may also be due to unforeseen conditions.

Thank you for understanding if some exhibits/animals are not available on the day you choose to visit.

The Bronx Zoo seems pricy but you get what you pay for. Meandering, well shaded paths take visitors through animal exhibits organized largely by geography. Special zones such as the butterfly garden and, of course, the reptile house (World of Reptiles) are not organized geographically. Each exhibit boasts excellent signage so the opportunities for education are abundant for those who want to take advantage of them. We saw plenty of rest spots with benches and picnic tables, but we did not eat food (or drink the beer) on offer, so I cannot comment on quality. Both the animal enclosures and the human habitats seemed clean and well cared for. We were there for five hours and kept a steady pace (after spending about half an hour eating a picnic lunch), but we missed large sections of the zoo and will need to go back. If you want to see the whole thing in one go, wear very comfortable walking shoes and allow a full day.

The zoo was such a fun a cute experience. Most of the animals were hiding out but that wasn’t surprising. Besides that everything was perfect
