The zoo is an amazing place to go. Yes, there is quite a bit of walking, but shouldn't that be part of the fun? The tigers, the giraffes, the bears and their collection of reptiles are all amazing - and they have a couple of beautiful rhinos. The only problem with the zoo is the maps - first, they are kiosks. Then they don't tell you how far away from you something is or they are so sparsely located that it really takes a lot of effort to get to where you want to go. I am a New Yorker and I have been going to the zoo forever - so I just figured they had to have an app, right? So I searched in the app store and low and behold, it exists and it's free. For all of you saying that you had to walk forever, perhaps this will help you. I used it all day with the family and it made the trip so much better - try to find a bathroom on your own with a 4-year old having to go....now! haha - having a map made the day better, trust me. I certainly didn't make the lines shorter, but at least we found everything we were looking for - especially the BEER - they have beer (I love the Bronx Zoo)! Don't pass up the Bronx Zoo, it's a great time for everyone, just be ready to walk - oh, and don't miss the seals!! They are awesome.

Took my seven year old and his friend there they loved it. So much to see and do while there. I'd recommend it for families. Be prepared to walk a lot

Not very wheelchair friendly place with the steep hills and some of the exhibits having the rubber matting ground which made pushing a large person in a wheelchair very difficulty
