Gaslamp Quarter

Often called the Historic Heart of San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter is the main dining and entertainment district of the city. With more than 150 bars and restaurants and 94 registered historic buildings, this nightlife playground has a lot to see and do, as well as a fascinating past. The Brothels, Bites and Booze tour will introduce you to the beginnings of San Diego as a port town – learn why it became one of the more notorious red light districts of its time, and find out how this once-undesired neighborhood became a fun and vibrant nightlife destination for both locals and visitors. After meeting your guide, you’ll embark on a journey of scandalous tales, unique cocktails and local cuisine. On the tour, you’ll make new friends, hear interesting stories, sing karaoke and explore new tastes at local restaurants*.

This is the second time I went on this particular food/drink/history walking tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining. This time we went to three places out of four, that I did not go to the last time. The food was awesome and would highly recommend this tour.

Kirk was such an entertaining tour guide! Thoroughly enjoyed his tips and stories of this cool part of town. I was a little disappointed there weren't more historical buildings with cool architecture but did enjoy what we were able to see. I loved the Greek place with the Gyros. My favorite though, was the fish tacos. Many salsas to sample, and the taco was very filling. Nice touch to finish off the tour with some amazing ice cream. My advice - come hungry! You will be so glad you took this tour!

Thank you for such a great review! I personally love the fish taco we serve on the tour, too! It's a pretty big piece of fish and the fixing are everything you'd want out of a Baja fish taco!

We went into this tour with open eyes, not really knowing what to expect or whether or not we would enjoy or be bored. We can all happily say that not only were we not bored, but we also all had a phenomenal time. Our fearless tour guide, Captain Kirk, was awesome. He was very informative, and he made our 2.30 hours fly by. This tour has something for everyone. Great for the history buff, the foodie people as well as those that like the booze. We all definitely recommend this tour and especially Kirk for a fun, fast paced, enjoyable, afternoon.
