While visiting Orlando this Christmas my family and I decided to drive down to Bush Gardens Christmas Eve. At first we were worried about the crowds and lines but there was hardly any wait at all. I did get a little aggravated when I asked some staff questions and they simply said “I don’t know” or gave the wrong information. The Cheetah was having “technical difficulties” and 2 of the photo machines at rides wasn’t working but all was good. Let me tell you what made this a 5 star rating. At the end of the day, I went to get the pictures. There was a lady in a purple shirt named “Vicki” at the photo key booth, who was working alone; this lady was the most POSITIVE, PLEASANT person I have ever encountered and I have been in hospitality management for over 20 years and traveled the world. As easy as it was for her to complain that she had to handle this desk alone, when I asked why she didn’t have anyone working with her she said with a very cheerful tone “Sometimes even Santa needs a few more elves”. She had patience with me and took time to assist me. As I watched the line build up, I even announced to the waiting customers to please be patient with Vicki as she was doing such a tremendous job alone. Everyone remained calm And understood. Kudos to Ms Vicki! Fantastic employee, who you should consider putting in a training environment.

It was a fun day during the week before Christmas but the property has gone down hill and is not as well maintained as it was when we came 8 years ago, don’t think we will be back any time soon. Pros: Buying the quick queue allowed us to enjoy the day and not wait in lines that were too long, definitely worth the price otherwise not sure we would have gotten to ride everything. Having Chick-Fil-A in the park instead of normal park food was a nice touch and we enjoyed it. Cons: I don’t think the dining plan was worth it, at the Chick-fil-A you could get a chicken sandwich or nuggets, fries and a soda. Tea and lemonade were not part of the dining plan at the Chick-fil-A location even though they were the same price as the soda. I love Chick-fil-A tea, so ended up paying $5 extra for a tea on top of what I already paid for a meal plan. No snacks are included on the meal plan. Lines for food were very, very long, plan on spending at least an hour in line for food.
