A must in any biker’s rites of passage is riding the White Rim Trail mountain bike tour in Canyonlands National Park. Riding on a sandstone bench through a land called “Island in the Sky” you will pass Mussleman Arch, Monument Basin, Turks head, Candlestick Tower, and White Crack, a perch 1000 feet above the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers in the center of Canyonlands… some believe the center of the universe. The White Rim is really a dream trail, and having the logistics so seamlessly planned and managed makes this a trip of a life time! The guides worked hard, and very well together, to keep morale high through any surprises. The bikes and gear were in good order so all that was left was to stare in awe at the world class scenes unfolding around every turn. I had not ridden a Mountain Bike in several years and prepared for about two months riding 2-3 times a week. I only really struggled with a couple of the steep climbs, though it was a great challenge the entire way! I could not recommend the trail or Holiday more highly!

Due to weather conditions, we had to change the tour to the San Rafael Swell. It was still awesome! HRE lead guide Jack and his team were excellent. Make sure you are in good shape because the terrain is rough and the climbs challenging! HRE did great with the food preparation and support. Will come back to do the White Canyon with HRE.

Done this trip several times as well as rafting trips, and Holiday is the best outfitter for guided trips. Spectacular scenery on White Rim. It's a remote desert though, and a very rough road with changeable conditions. Natural conditions caused 2 prior trips to re-route and not complete the full loop. This year I got all the way around. Nothing you can do about it, and the Holiday guides are expert at improvising and creating the best possible experience given the natural situation. Expect bumps, rocks, climbs, wind, heat... what else? And expect to be rewarded with a memorable adventure that you want to do again. I would suggest that Holiday be more careful about the 3 and 4 day trip attendees - if people want to go more slowly, take the 4 day option and not force everyone else to wait hours on the trail.
