The food was good but not great. The tour guide was timely, informative, and helpful. It was good to see some of the neighborhoods and businesses in the downtown area.

My husband and I looked so forward to this as part of our trip we took to DC and Virginia. The food was great, the problem was our tour guide Jennifer. The ENTIRE time she bashed a certain political party she didn't agree with. On and on and on. It made the entire time very uncomfortable. She shared VERY little of the history of the places we were seeing and instead went on about all the important people she knew and worked for in DC. At one restaurant I actually was nodding off at the 45 minute speech she gave on all these things. Ironically, she mentioned she had bad reviews because people said she was too political. Wow! I wonder why...

Overall I felt like this was only a mediocre tour and too expensive for the experience. What we liked: we had Jennifer as a tour guide and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area. The food that was provided was delicious. That being said, it felt more like an American history tour with a few food stops in between. Very little information was given about what we were eating/how it was prepared/history of the restaurant. So we were disappointed with the lack of "food information". What was not acceptable was that we had several individuals in our group with food allergies and food restrictions and it felt like what food was given was very disorganized. We provided detailed information about what the allergies were ahead of time, and the restaurant ended up providing a dish that included one of the allergies. When this was pointed out to the tour guide-she simply said it wasn't her responsibility and that we needed to ask the wait staff for a replacement. We strongly feel like the tour guide needs to be top of coordinating with the restaurant staff to direct food accordingly. The guests on the tour should not be constantly dealing with that organization.
