What To Expect

Sunset Cultural Center

This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.

Carmel is not the easiest place to get around by car so booking a walking tour was perfect. We went to 4 restaurants for taste of food with wine pairing and 3 boutique shops (honey, olive oil, & chocolate) All were prepared for us and very accomodating. Many of the owners introduced themselves and the food. Tastes and discounts were also available at the little shops. Our guide was a hometown girl and that offered us a sense of intimacy with getting to know the real Carmel. Only critique would be the planning for the stops was not in a logical manner so it would be hard to find them again...and impossible for a person who couldn't do a lot of walking and steps.

What a wonderful way to spend the day eating and learning about the history of Carmel. Tracy was excellent and took us to some amazing places to eat, drink and indulge in all the best that Carmel has to offer while also stopping to point out places of interest. This was the highlight of my stay in Carmel and certainly something everyone must do while visiting, I can’t wait to go back and do it again!

Thank you Stacie for the wonderful tour, we enjoyed every minute of it. All the stops were outstanding, a great mix of food, drinks and some surprises. I will be ordering the olive oil when I return home:) This was a wonderful way to see Carmel.
