Our off-road and hiking tours are not recommended for people with conditions that will be aggravated by bumpy roads. We do our best to keep the bumps to a minimum but some roads are rugged and bumpy and you can expect some jostling.

What To Expect

Capitol Reef National Park

Join us for a drive through Capitol Reefs back country to a scenic paradise of desert landscapes in our luxury 4X4 vehicle through cathedrals, temples, buttes and hoodoos that will get you away from most all of the park’s visitors. We’ll ford the Fremont River and stop at the Bentonite Hills, walk around, take pictures, talk about the geology and history of the area, stop at viewpoints along the way and enjoy the solitude, visit the iconic Temples of the Sun and Moon, see geological oddities such as Glass Mountain and ancient lava flows. This trip has tons of photographic opportunities and is missed by most visitors to Capitol Reef due to its remote location and often times challenging roads. If you're looking for a Jeep tour of Capitol Reef give us a shot, we don't drive Jeep but have more comfortable luxury vehicle to accommodate larger groups, enjoy the air conditioning on those hot summer days or enclosed SUV with a heater for the chilly days! We do winter tours as well.

We highly recommend Waterpocket Adventure Tours. If you want to see and learn about the uniqueness of Capitol Reef, Jason is HIGHLY qualified to do just that. He does a great job of explaining all the wonders the park has to offer and is willing to go the extra mile to satisfy customer requests. For example, whenever we asked him to stop for a photo, he was always willing to oblige. This is the best way to see Capitol Reef to get the full experience.

Jason was a terrific guide. We booked an 8 hour tour, thought it would be a long day but if flew by! Saw so many things that I will never forget. Spiritually uplifting to see the Earth from this perspective. Jason was very cool about me crying the whole time, from joy! I think this tour is a MUST for anyone visiting Capital Reef.

My husband and I booked the full day tour of Cathedral Valley with Jason. What a perfect day! He picked us up at our Torrey lodging promptly at 8am in his comfortable Ford Explorer. I’m so glad we picked Jason to take us into the backcountry of Capitol Reef. We saw and learned so much! He was very knowledgeable about the geology and history of the area. He willingly spent as much time at each site we visited for as long as we desired. We never felt rushed. I sat in the front passenger seat….he patiently answered all my questions. And I asked a lot of them! We were wowed by the breathtaking scenery at every turn. Thank you Jason for giving us a most memorable day!
