Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

Macy did a really great job telling some ghost stories appropriate for our young kids, as well as entertaining for the adults! It was a great way to learn some history about Charleston too. Tour lasted about 1.5 hours and our kids (ages 7 and 9) were engaged the whole time.

The tour was a great combination of history, personalities and ghosts. If all you are interested in is scary stories, this tour isn't for you-but if you like great history AND ghost stories combined, this is the tour for you. Don our guide, did an excellent job of relating the stories and there were many things I learned on the tour.
