Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

Dan was an awesome tour guide. He had pictures of ghost and lots of stories. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours and took us all around downtown Charleston.

The Death and Depravity Tour was very interesting and educational! Our tour guide used to be a history teacher, which was pretty cool. His love for history was apparent in his story telling. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He interacted with my boyfriend and me throughout the tour. My boyfriend and I even heard a tune whistled from a ghost when leaving Bloody Alley!

Don, the guide, gave a fantastic tour on the history of Charlestonā€™s darker side. I liked his sense of humor, as it was a bit dry and corny. He did a really good job of engaging everyone in the group and I felt like everyone got to know him a bit. My only critique for him would to be brush up on Charleston during the civil rights movement in the 1950ā€™s and 1960ā€™s. I know Charleston isnā€™t a household name for civil rights, but they were active. All he said was that ā€œeveryone got along,ā€ which I think is a disservice to that era of history and Charleston. I know itā€™s a touchy subject, but one needs to embrace their history in order to learn from it.
