Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

My husband and I took this tour during our trip to Charleston this past week. We had an awesome time on the Tour with Don! He was a great host and was incredibly knowledgeable on all things Charleston, especially the darker side which is what we were looking for. Don was open to questions and suggestions and we were able to make a tour a little bit of our own as well. He showed us some great spots and had even better stories to accompany them. We will definitely take a tour with this company again when we return to Charleston!

I came down with my lady before our first born and decided on this tour one night and we were more than satisfied. Not only was our guide Don extremely knowledgeable about his city but he thoroughly took pride in his tour. He was comical and laid back, not just a typical tour where he just stated facts. Very fun and would highly recommend. Thanks Don!

Our tour guide Don was awesome and knew so much about Charleston and the historical background! I learned so much on his tour and he was sure to make it funny along the way! We took the tour at 6:00 pm so it was still daylight but I will definitely be back to take it when it’s dark!
