Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

My sister and I took the Death and Depravity tour on Jan 13 and Don was our tour guide. Don was very knowledgeable about the basic facts and the darker history of Charleston. This was my sisterā€™s first tour and she enjoyed it other than it being windy and cold that evening. Don answered any questions that were asked on our tour. He also made sure everyone knew how to get back to where they needed to go after the tour was over. I would definitely recommend the Death and Depravity tour. The best part is that it is an adults only tour so you get to here all about the darker and lesser known side of Charleston. If you take a ghost tour with some of the other companies and children are present, the tour guides tend to sugar coat the stories. I also got an interesting photo at the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon. Iā€™ve been on several ghost tours in other haunted/historic cities, but this was the first time I was able to snap photo evidence. I was so excited!

We loved our Death and Depravity tour with Don! He was a great guide, very knowledgable, and answered all the questions we had. We learned a ton about the darker sides of Charleston. We would definitely do the tour again!

Six of us took a Ghosts of Liberty Tour through Ghost City Tours on a chilly night the day after Christmas. Will Green was our guide and he immediately related to our teenage granddaughters and attracted their attention. Throughout the 90 minute tour, we saw and heard about interesting people, their stories, and the history of Charleston. We stood outside cemeteries and graveyards and learned so much about John C. Calhoun. We all ended the evening with positive comments about Will and his tour. I highly recommend to everyone.
