Charleston: Off The Beaten Path

Overview
Peace and quiet is what makes this tour special. We walk the streets in a less traveled part of the historic district passing beautiful gardens, stately homes, and visit the inside of two breathtaking churches. This is a part of the city missed by the average guest, and one that you surely wouldn't want to miss yourself.

1
St. Michael's Church
During the week we go into the church which has been standing longer than any other house of worship in the city, 1761. See three Tiffany stained glass windows, and the famous pew 43.
2
Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist
This is like walking into Europe. Without a doubt this is the most beautiful interior in the city.
3
Battery & White Point Gardens
Once an oyster bed known as White Point, this area was developed on landfill specifically for a park. It served as a battery of cannons during the Civil War and was also the site of the execution of Steve Bonnet, the Gentleman Pirate.

My wife and I have been trying to get to Charleston for several years. First on our list was to take a GREAT tour. Something that would put us right in the middle of the city’s magnificent history, and it’s charm. This was DEFINITELY it. Absolutely LOVED this tour. Our guide, Evans, was so delightful and into it. What set this apart from other tours we’ve taken was the QUALITY in which the information was delivered. More of a ā€œstory tellingā€ than relaying info. Learned so much! And the walk itself? Gorgeous. It was so terrific to get a first hand stroll down certain alleys most tours don’t venture... Again. This tour was worth the price. Well told. Endless charm. I usually glance my watch wondering if it’s almost over. Here I was hoping we still had time to burn. That good.
