This is the perfect way to get a real overview of the city with some history thrown in. The carriage rides are lovely and slower so you get more detailed history. This was nice because it is January and the bus is warmer than a carriage, but you also can cover a lot more ground in a short time. We to to see the Citadel, the College of Charleston, the historic district and get a total orientation of the city. Valerie did a good job with history, and was very nice about getting people where they were going next, etc. In our opinion she tried too hard to be a bit crazy and should try to read her audience a little better. Maybe more focus on driving and history, for us. Overall, it was a great way to see everything, and know what you wanted to do in more detail.

My wife and I took the van tour with about 10 people on it. Bill, our driver, was a wealth of information about Charleston. Took a bit over an hour and we got to see many historic sites with fascinating details from Bill. Highly recommended.

We booked this tour based on reviews from Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The tour left from the Visitors' Center and drove past all the 'must-see' places in the city, with a running commentary from our congenial driver, Benji, who was able to maneuver through traffic, entertain with relevant stories, and answer questions that arose with ease. What a pro! At the end of the tour we felt as if we'd 'seen it all', as advertised.
