My wife and I took the city tour to gain a good overview of Charleston. We did see many of the sights that we would not have see otherwise. Charleston is a wonderful and beautiful city. Our only problem was the guide. All guides tell stories and inject their own personality into their tours. Our guide, however went beyond telling stories, she went into her own personal beliefs/philosophy on everything from race relations to sexual orientation. Some of the statements bordered on insensitive and made some tour members feel uncomfortable. We took the tour to learn and see more of Charleston. We did not take it to have to listen to the tour guide express poorly formed ideas and opinions instead of focusing on the main purpose of the tour.

It was a hot weekend when we were there. We got on and the air could not keep up, so they had fans attached to the old ceiling. Didn't work!! We got off as soon as we could. We called the office and spoke to a girl and explained. She assured us the owner/manager would call us the next day. She spoke to the driver, who was good, and he confirmed it was way too hot and there was a screaming baby so no one could hear (that actually didn't bother me, because I was too hot to care). They never called. We then contacted Viator who we booked through, and when they contacted this company they said because we got on, no refund. AND, their air was working - THEN WHY ALL THE FANS???? DO NOT DO THIS GROUP!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have fans on all of our buses simply to help circulate the air. We actually received no other complaints on this day and it has been quite pleasant outside for most of the last 45 days. It can be 100 plus degrees in the summer and with lots of windows and heat from the street, it will be a little warmer on a tour bus than it would in a small car with few people. We continuously monitor our vehicles and have them maintained so that the heat and air are working properly. We're sorry that you warm on this tour, but yes our tickets are typically non refundable once purchased.

Benji was a great tour director. When going to purchase tickets, the advertised combo, city tour and Fort Sumter was not available. we were told to get a ticket for the city tour and would be dropped off at Fort Sumter, pay for that tour, get picked back up and get dropped off at the Market. We waited a hour to get picked up and no one showed up. I called Adventure Sightseeing and was told the driver was stuck in traffic due to a accident and could not tell us when we would be picked up but we could take the 211 or 210 bus. The 210 bus showed up 3 times but never the 211. the bus driver told us we had to take the 210 bus to the visitor center then catch the 211 to the Market which we finally did. We wasted a lot of time waiting for nothing. Also, when booking the tour we were quoted $23 and could get a senior/AAA discount but the receipt did not reflect this discount.

Thank you for taking our City Tour and for taking time to write a review. We're glad you enjoyed the City Tour. We actually don't offer a senior or AAA rate on our tours so we apologize if you misunderstood. We also don't have a Fort Sumter Tour combo per se, but we do offer a discount if you take our tour and the Fort Sumter Tour. We certainly are able to drop off at the monument building for your Fort Tour, but typically do not offer transportation after as there is a free shuttle run by the City right there. The shuttle is called the DASH and goes the Visitors Center and The Market. On certain occasions, we can offer pick after the fort tour, but that must be prearranged with our office and shuttle driver. Unfortunately, Fort Sumter Tours does not give us tickets to sell and guests must purchase them directly. We apologize if there was any confusion or miscommunication on our part. We hope to see you another time.
