While the tour of the city was nice my experience with the initial preparation was a bit unsettling. We reserved and paid but did not get a follow up call until the day before and it was rushed, advising us where to meet the bus but no other instructions. I asked if we could have water/ coffee on the bus and was told absolutely not yet when we got on the bus, every one else had water or some type of beverage. I was not able to take my meditation in a timely manner because of a rule no one but us had to follow. Our tour guide Shawn was very through with his history points but they mostly centered on all the negative things the slaves did while being brought to Charleston and becoming free. At one point it was look at all the slaves did for our city for free, we got free labor. There was no responsibility spoken of on the slave owners part only the negative on the freed slaves part, such as revolts, insurrections to name a few . Being the only African American couple on the bus, this was uncomfortable to say the least.

The tour of Charleston by Adventure Sight Seeing was a good experience. The driver was knowledgeable, fun and friendly. My favorite part was seeing the Citadel and The Battery.

Ann the Driver was easy to understand and very informative. The smaller bus made it easier to navigate the narrow streets.
