Charleston Stand-Up Paddleboard Eco Tour

Overview
This 2-hour introductory paddle on the Edge of America will get you into the basics of SUP, all in the calm flatwater of the Folly River. All safaris begin with "ground school" or SUP instructions with your Lifeguard Certified Instructors. We'll explore alongside the numerous beautiful native birds and bottlenose dolphins. We'll go with the flow, following the tides and wind direction for a great beginning paddle. At low tide we visit a private beach and go for a swim!

Group photo is taken at the end of the tour, which will be posted on our social media pages.

Full moon tour was incredible for the whole family. Great tour of the Folly River. Jon and Eric are SUP pros who will take care of you. Their love of and respect for the Charleston area is contagious.

We had the best time with Jon and Charleston SUP Safaris! My family came to visit and upon another excellent review of the Safari experience, I thought the dolphin tour would be the perfect way to start their weekend. Unfortunately, mother nature didn't agree. Jon was so accommodating, recommending that we go have brunch and then come back when the weather was supposed to clear up. Two hours later the clouds parted and we were off! The dolphins came out to play that day and we had a blast! So much so that my parents just came back this weekend to pick up their new boards from Jon to enjoy on Watauga Lake! If you are looking for something fun and memorable for your family, I recommend Jon and SUP Safaris on Folly!!

My boyfriend and I had been looking into trying Stand Up Paddle boarding and finally decided to do so while we were in Charleston, and we could not have had a better experience than with Jon and Charleston SUP Safaris!!! We decided to opt for the Sunset Tour and were lucky enough to spot a few dolphins and get a great lesson on different marine animals and the ecosystem around Charleston. Jon and I believe Jen was her name, were so knowledgable about everything we could possibly ask and wonder about. I was so nervous about falling in the beginning, but SUP was very beginner friendly and neither my boyfriend or I fell even once. They care about your safety and your fun and we plan on returning on our next trip to Charleston! We had such a great time and it really was the highlight of our trip....bonus: it was a great work out!
