My daughter, my mother, and I took the Chinatown/Little Italy tour on a Saturday morning. We were delighted to find that we were the only 3 on the tour. Alana was very informative, giving us info about both the area and the foods. We had 5 tasting stops on the tour--one of which was large enough to count as a whole meal. All three generations of us agreed that this was one of the highlights of our tri.

My mother, sister and I really enjoyed tasting Little Italy and Chinatown. We learned not just about the foods we were eating but a lot about the neighborhoods as well. Alana has really done her homework and is very knowledgeable on historical and present day NYC, and she surveys the areas often to keep her tours fresh and tasty. So I may sign up for the same tour in the near future, and I would certainly like to try her East Village and Sweet Sights Food Tours!!

I joined Alana for the Chinatown and Little Italy tour on Monday morning and was pleasantly surprised to be the only person - not a reflection on the tour quality at all, just that Alana has only just started doing tours full time. Had a really enjoyable and interesting time wandering through the streets, learning about the history and tasted some fantastic food. The mozzarella was my favourite at stop 1, so light and milky although every stop was worth while. Despite the craziness of a Monday morning going on around us, the tour was at a leisurely pace and the dialogue flowed. Would highly recommend this tour for an insight into an area that has changed dramatically over the years - almost 3 hours very well spent. Would have loved to have done the japanese tasting event too but no time on this trip. One thing though - make sure you are hungry as I was stuffed by the end of it!
