Joining Discover Richmond Tours means exploring Church Hill in a unique way. You will sample delicious food and snacks from up to 5 different restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, possibly including wood-fired pastries, classic Richmond comfort food, authentic Ethiopian Fare, and more! You’ll learn about the birthplace of Richmond and it’s heroes, and hear how our partner merchants got their start. But most of all, we’ll make sure you have fun doing it.

Be sure to bring water and comfortable shoes – we’ll be standing at most of our stops, and we’ll be in and out too quickly for water and other beverages to be served.

My family booked a Church Hill Tour with River City Food Tours in February 2019, and it was a fantastic experience! Brian was very knowledgeable about the food venues, influences, history of the area and was an all around great guide! Church Hill is the oldest district in the city and Brian did an awesome job integrating history into the tour itself. Our tour included an authentic Ethiopian venue, a delicious wood-fired bakery, 81/2 pizza, a craft market, and several others! Each person in our group walked away really impressed with the overall quality of the tour, the venues we visited, and full happy bellies! Highly recommend using River City Food Tours!

The River City Food Tours are an excellent way to explore Richmond since you get to try some great local places (cafes, bakeries, restaurants), and you get to hear the history of the neighborhood you're walking through. The Church Hill Food Tour focuses on the oldest district of the city that has some great houses and history, but the best part was the food. We went to a wood-fired bakery, an Ethiopian restaurant, a pizza place and several more - all were delicious and I can't wait to go back to try them all again!
