Of course the Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens skylines are beautiful in the evening. That's a given. So it's worth taking this cruise for that aspect, I would say. What's not ideal is the number of people they cram onto the boat. I mean, I get it. It's a touristy thing and they're out to make as much money as possible. But a lot of people get put on this thing, every seat taken except the indoors, lower level seats that no one wants. The food and drink are nothing special and overpriced. Not too big of a surprise there. What was the most intolerable was the tour guide. An older guy that has lived in NYC since forever. Knows everything there is to know about the region. I would say for 1:45 of the 2:00 hour trip he was talking over the loudspeaker. And that is a lot of talking. He told all kinds of stories, some pertinent, most not. All tidbits of info but most you couldn't pickup on. After a while you just kind of tune him out. Dude, the skylines, the water, the boat traffic, the Statue of Libery, all beautiful and mesmerizing. Let that scenery do most of the talking. It will be better for everyone. But who knows, he got some applause at the end so maybe it's just me.

I was only in town for 3 days on my own and needed a guided tour to catch the highlights. Due to a late meeting, I was running late and arrived with 10 minutes to spare. The counter agents were polite, kind, and assured me that I would make it on board. Get there early if you want to pick a primo seat outside or inside. It was great weather and our tour guide provided an engaging overview of NYC history, while guests sat back and enjoyed the view. During the cruise tour, many guests who sat inside chose to walk around and feel the breeze. Very satisfying way to see the sights without waiting in traffic or walking miles.

Very enjoyable cruise with Tony as a guide. I would recommend queuing 1 hour early to get outside seating. Great for first-timers. On a subsequent trip I would recommend using a cruise where there are wraparound decks for better viewing. Can’t beat the price through City Pass though.
