If you’re in town for a short time, the hop on hop off tour is good for the day and an easy way to get to the Garden District. Some tour guide are great, others just alright.

My first trip in New Orleans, so wonderful. I met such a pleasant and knowledgeable tour guide by the name of Clarence. Not only did he make my experience of eating at the Commander Palace memorable ( I almost missed the opportunity, but thanks to Clarence, it happened), he shared so many enlighten information regarding the Garden District on the walking tour. I truly appreciated all the information that was given to me regarding New Orleans on the bus Tour. I will be back. Thank you, Clarence

Been on a slew of similar hop on/hop off tours. We bought a 3 day pass even thought the first day our arrival was dinner time, so we intended on 2 days. Saw the sights, did the loop. The 3 day pass includes 2 walking tours of the French Quarter and the Garden District. The walking tour in the French Quarter lasted 45 minutes - 1 hour, covered about 200 yards, and while the tour guide, Sparkles, was a lovely lady, you get what you pay for. We then discovered our Saturday plans got cancelled because of a planned parade, so they became 1 day passes. I still am waiting for the refund of the price difference to post to my credit card. If it doesn’t, I will have given 2 stars too many. We booked an actual Garden District tour as a replacement, it was 2 hours, very thorough. I have no doubt the free 45 minute tour would not have been that good.
