We had a great time touring Sarasota as first time visitors to the city. This was a surprise trip for my significant other to celebrate his birthday. His part of his gift was this trolley tour as he is a history lover. The proprietors are friendly and welcoming. The vehicle was clean and the water was cold and refreshing! Accessing the departure area is super easy and we walked from the Ritz which is only about a mile away. Dory drove and Jon was our wonderful tour guide. He was knowledgeable, engaging and really got a lot of info out to us in a short period of time. We loved hearing the history of the city and also getting the recommendations for places to visit. Jon made this a truly wonderful experience!!! My only observation and why this is not a 5-star review: this was NOT a trolly tour. Today it was a van although the trolley was sitting and not being used. And- the seat that we had (sole option together when we boarded) was positioned in front of the metal pillar of the van wall. So- an obstructed view. We had to constantly sit up or back to see out. As it was explained when we arrived for the tour, they only had 5 people for our time slot so they were going to use a van vs. the trolley- the very thing we signed up for. It is supposed to be a trolley tour, after all. They nicely tried to sell us on it not being so big ( frankly it would be nice to have more room because of COVID and there were people from different parties on the van). I was very disappointed about the change and expressed that but certainly didnā€™t want to cause a fuss. All in all, I recommend the tour highly- just be prepared that you may be on a van. Not a deal breaker by any means, just disappointed it wasnā€™t what I had planned and been looking forward to.

The tour guide Steve was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Also added some personal info about his life in Sarasota.

This is an excellent way to get an overview of the Sarasota area. We've planned to take this tour since we moved here almost three years ago, and we were pleased with all the new information we learned. Steve, the tour guide, and Dory, the driver, did a great job. The tour was both entertaining and informative.
