Clear Creek Intermediate Whitewater Rafting near Denver

Overview
Clear Creek Canyon is unique in the quantity and quality of its rapids. It has more rapids than nearly any other commercially run stretch of whitewater in the nation. It is also free-flowing, meaning that the water levels change throughout the season, offering a variety of experiences. In addition to world-class rafting, it is also the home of the 1859 Gold Rush. Gold is still found in the creek by intrepid miners using pans and dredges. Guests will pass many sites of historical significance related to the Gold Rush while rafting on Clear Creek. Clear Creek is also conveniently located nearby Denver and other surrounding resorts, making it the perfect day-trip excursion.

Definitely an awesome experience. We're from FL, and first off the scenery was surreal. Despiser rain in beginning, the sun cleared to really show beautiful Idaho springs mountains. Our guide CHAZ was awesome! He kept us safe, assessed our skill level, and would constantly give us tips as newbies. In addition, he really made an effort to know everyone and point out the cool parts of the view. He also shared some of his extreme sports background and lifestyle; very cool stuff. Funny and great guide. Otherwise, rapids were just as we expected; just right for our level. Overall, awesome experience.

We started out with the beginner trip - it was fun, and definitely a beginner trip down the river. Our guide Russell was awesome, very knowledgeable of the area and gave some great recommendations for food and other activities around the area. After talking to Russell throughout the trip, we decided we would like to try the intermediate course. We were lucky to get in to raft the intermediate route the next morning. For this run, our guide was Marky Mark and he was also awesome. Iā€™m not a strong swimmer and had some nerves about the potential of falling out of the raft. Mark talked about each rapid and kind of what to expect as we approached each big rapid, and it was sooooo relieving to me to be mentally prepared for each thing we were about to do. We loved this place and are already planning our trip back next year!!
