Overview

Clear Creek Canyon is unique in the quantity and quality of its rapids. It has more rapids than nearly any other commercially run stretch of whitewater in the nation. It is also free-flowing, meaning that the water levels change throughout the season, offering a variety of experiences. In addition to world-class rafting, it is also the home of the 1859 Gold Rush. Gold is still found in the creek by intrepid miners using pans and dredges. Guests will pass many sites of historical significance related to the Gold Rush while rafting on Clear Creek. Clear Creek is also conveniently located nearby Denver and other surrounding resorts, making it the perfect day-trip excursion.

This was my first time whitewater rafting and I had an amazing time! Marky Mark guided our group of 3 and did an excellent job of keeping us safe, properly teaching us and making it a fun experience. We were a small group, so we even got to stop a couple of times along the route and had the chance to pick fresh raspberries. During the intermediate route we had a chance to find our rhythm as a group during the 1st third, experience level 4 rapids during the 2nd third and take in the scenery during the last third. I would definitely recommend Downstream Adventures!

My boys and I were visiting Colorado and wanted to do something memorable, so I investigated rafting opportunities. I happened upon the outfitters through a Google search and was quite happy with the service that they provided--given that I booked them on such short notice. My sons and I had a fun time on the Clear Creek, and their only regrets was that the 2-hour trip wasn't longer. However, it's always better to want more. Highly recommended, but if you are scheduling this activity in advance, call to see what the river conditions will be like when you intend to visit. I was lucky, because of the massive winter melt, the Clear Creek was still bustling and whitewater rafting season had extended into mid-August.
