Clear Kayak Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Why clear bottom kayaks? Our continued commitment to maintaining safety within our immersive experiences has led us to these technologically advanced kayaks, a finely crafted and mesmerizing new model of kayak. The Innovex material is not glass, but a highly durable plastic composite, like the overhead cock pits of fighter jets. The clear-bottom kayak does not simply lay a window panel under you, but rather a fully-formed inlay of Innovex allows water (and so bioluminescence) to rise around you, preserving the full experience without compromising paddler safety.

After spending around $200 to surprise my best friend, another $250 on a hotel nearby, taking a day off work, we arrive, like 4 other kayak companies set off and ours was cancelled because winds were >10mph (according to accuweather winds ranged from 7mph-12mph at 9:45pm, which was the first 1/2 hour delay). We waited 30 minutes for them to get ahold of their manager to tell us it was cancelled. A guy close to us talked to a guide because it was his second night in a row getting cancelled (Sept 14&15) and he and his friends had a hard time staying this second night, which was again cancelled. Money should be fully returned. Nobody has the time or money to continuously spend hundreds of dollars on hotels and take off work just to see if they eventually get to go on the tour.

Our three guides (Rich, Chaz and Cary), led us on an exciting, fun and informative Indian River trek from Manatee Cove Park in Merritt Island. My wife, myself, and a good friend from Maryland joined a group of about 14 other kayakers of various ages and abilities. The guys were very friendly, funny, and informative about the basics of kayaking, safety, and the ecology and history of the area. I had never been in a clear kayak which I enjoyed, and the bioluminescence was really cool to see and experience. We felt well taken care of, completely safe, and well informed during our outing. The amount of time kayak seemed just about right (not too short, not too long) and we were given all the information we need to have fun, stay safe, and not get eated alive by bugs. When we left Vero Beach to head up to Merritt Island it was quite stormy, so my wife called the number included in the email and someone picked up and answered our questions on the first ring (great customer service). The guides warned us that sometimes a manatee might come up right by or under the kayak and surprise people (this did not happen on our outing)...or that sometimes a fish (a mullet) might end up jumping into a kayak with someone...this did happen and was quite funny with excited shrieks until one of the guides helped the person slide the fish back into the water, and we all had a good laugh! All in all, we had a great time and we highly recommend the experience.
