What To Expect

Crystal River

This tour is ALL about finding the best manatee spots and utilizing our clear kayaks to give you the best viewing possible without getting wet! Crystal River is known as the “Manatee Capital of the World.” On this tour, we want our guests to experience Manatees in their natural habitat. Crystal River is fed by dozens of natural springs, which makes it is a hotspot during Florida’s “colder” months. Between November and March, hundreds of manatees migrate inland to the springs to seek refuge and stay warm. We can’t control where they might be in the area, but our experienced guides will take you to where they are most active! While manatees are our main focus of this tour, we often see dolphins, fish, turtles, birds, and more! This 2-2.5 hour guided adventure includes a relaxed paddle through Kings Bay to Hunter Springs, Jurassic Springs, and beyond in Crystal River. Check this paddle off your manatee bucket list! We paid $398 for a family of four, and it was absolutely not worth it. Driving from Orlando felt like a waste of time, as the experience did not live up to the hype. The clear kayaks were pointless—the water was murky, making it impossible to see much of anything beneath us. We did spot a few manatees, one alligator, and a crowd of people and boats, but nothing particularly impressive. With the overwhelming number of visitors, it felt more like a congested tourist trap than a peaceful nature experience. Save your money and find a better spot!

We loved our tour guide Cami and Carson who took our group of 6 out for the first tour of the day. We are from Wisconsin and have never seen Manatee’s or alligators before. She was very knowledgeable and was able to help us identify them in the water. Carson also pointed out a mother and baby manatee that swam right under us. Cami was excellent and made our trip!
